Jewelry Care

Guidelines to caring for your Sterling Silver Jewelry

The Daliano Jewelry Collections in Sterling Silver have tarnish resistant qualities with the exception of our Lauhala Weave Collection.  A special plating material is used (Rhodium) in the jewelry making process as a durable corrosion-resistant coating to prevent tarnishing and as a resistance to incidental surface abrasions.

Sterling silver is a durable material consisting of 92.5% silver and 7.5% of other metals, usually copper.  Sterling silver without the Rhodium Plating is very temperamental and will tarnish due to the oxidation reaction between oxygen, sulfur, and silver.  There are preventive measures to help care for your Daliano jewelry to maintain the integrity and finish of the silver and the rhodium plating material.

Sterling Silver With RHODIUM PLATING

1.  Avoid salt & chlorinated water, perspiration and any harsh chemicals.

2.  After each wear, gently polish jewelry with a non-abrasive silver cleaning cloth to wipe away body oils & perspiration.  We recommend to not use liquid cleaning solutions to clean your jewelry.

3.  Put on jewelry last after applying make-up, lotions, hairspray, etc.

4.  Remove your jewelry prior to taking a bath or shower.

5.  Store each piece of jewelry separately in a soft cloth or pouch.

6.  To preserve rhodium plating follow the instructions above or re-plating may be necessary.

Guidelines to caring for your Stainless Steel Koa Wood Jewelry

The Koa Wood has an epoxy finish which seals & protects the wood from moisture & the elements.  Stainless Steel is a very durable metal and will not corrode or tarnish.  It can scratch & stain so minimize contact with other items that can damage your jewelry.

1.  Polish your jewelry with a soft, lint-free cloth.

2.  Use soap & water, then rinse & dry as needed.
